The spirit of exploration of All That We Are at 1450 depends on chance encounters: one such was meeting talented young chef Hugh Flint in Cygnet, Tasmania. When he described his passion for seasonal food sourced locally and ethically with a spirit of adventure served in the intimacy of someone’s home, we were hooked.
So after two successful Seasonal Feasts in February and July we are delighted to be collaborating on a Spring Seasonal Feast on 5 November.
This time we are developing the concept further so a nine degustation with matched local wines is embedded into an overnight event with a focus on relaxed, extended conversations with people who are passionate about good food and the arts, amongst other things.
Of course, what we are really interested in is bringing people together from different places and backgrounds to connect. It also provides a performance opportunity for an emerging musician – this time a pianist and an opera singer.
Any profits raised from this Seasonal Feasts will go into Scarlets Fund to support a young musician to volunteer their time in a creative project in a developing community.
The Spring Seasonal Feast includes:
- nine course degustation with matched local wines with food that is inspired and foraged
- chamber music
- one night overnight accommodation
- three course breakfast following a walk on the local beach
