I’m here in Tasmania and in particular at 1450 to respond to the landscape and to place. I use drawing and painting to connect - and then respond to what I sense. My senses inculcate my drawn and painted response - it’s that simple and that endlessly complex.
I’ve been drawing and painting for over 50 years - it is the constant drive that informs my life. I draw and paint to connect me to place and to enrich my sensual experience.
Over the years I have worked with children and adults in formal and informal settings to enthuse them with the act and craft of drawing and painting and to demystify the process and share my enjoyment and passion.
I exhibit my work regularly and have worked in numerous public and private collections here and abroad - including the National Gallery of Australia - and most recently I was a finalist in the Paul Guest Prize for drawing at Bendigo Art Gallery. http://instagram.com/gregalexander1 www.gregory-alexander.com
