Georgia Scott is part of the 2025 Peggy Glanville-Hicks Composers House & national PRELUDE Composer Residency Program.
“My music aims to explore identity and lived experience and I particularly enjoy writing for orchestral forces. I have been fortunate to previously work with the Tasmanian, Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras as well as Orchestra Victoria and The Australian World Orchestra. Alongside composition, I have also worked as a guest presenter on ABC Classic, an access facilitator for BackStage Music, and an advocate for artists with disability. I have also shared my research into women with disability in music at Harvard and Columbia Universities.
While at All That We Are, I’ll be working on a film score for the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra to accompany an installation by director Tim Georgeson at Dark Sky Tasmania in February 2027. I’ll also be writing some arrangements and collaborating on a new work for the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Find Your Voice Collective. Alongside this, I’m looking forward to to having the opportunity to work on solo viola work for Play Outdoors Productions inspired by my time at All That We Are. I’m so grateful to All That We Are and the Prelude Program for giving me the chance to compose in such a beautiful place. I am also incredibly thankful to Simon and Victoria at All That We Are for allowing me to bring my family along so I can be close to my infant son while on the residency.”
