Air3331 Art Fair 2016

The opening of the air3331 art fair in Tokyo gave Simon and VIctoria an opportunity to meet some local artists and see air3331 at work. The air3331 space is a repurposed school on four floors comprising studios, meeting places, small independent galleries, cafe/bar and even a gym. It is clearly a community hub that gives artists the chance to make and she work and offers reasonable-rate spaces for small galleries and businesses.The 2016 art fair, presenting at the same time as the mammoth Tokyo Art Fair, gave less well known artists a chance to show in a group show. What we found most interesting was that work by artists with special needs and also an artist engaged in working with children were just as much a part of the exhibition as everything else.
