Jacinta Madsen in residence

Jacinta Madsen had a ten day residency at 1450 in February 2017. Jacinta lives in Denmark and was spending some time travelling. She has worked on Danish television for young children, mostly using art as a gateway to play, imagination and self-enabling. She had been in a limbo about her  artwork as she had been working non-stop on projects up until she left for Australia. Her aim for staying at 1450 was to stop and think about her work more seriously and to search for some inspiration on new ways to go. She was inspired by her retreat at 1450 using much of her time to continue working on an on-going project of bird drawings - using ink and inksplatters and also completing a short film documenting her live drawing to improvised music.
