An introductory workshop on the magic of publishing books WITH children

Join Victoria Ryle, founder of Kids' Own Publishing for a relaxed, hands-on introductory workshop in the beautiful surrounds of All That We Are at 1450 overlooking Pipeclay Lagoon, near Clifton Beach.An opportunity to introduce parents, teachers, artists and anyone interested in giving children a voice in their world to some simple publishing magic. We will explore ways of making art work, sharing stories and creating simple texts in the form of published books or zines.The workshop will include an introduction to  WePublish app for iPad. Available here We'll discuss ways of using these ideas in the home, school and other community contexts, giving you practical ideas to support children’s creative expression, literacy, emotional well-being and personal & cultural identity at any age and stage.Victoria Ryle co-founded Kids’ Own Publishing in Ireland in 1997  has over thirty years’ experience of publishing books for children BY children.$50 Individual / $30 Concession – Including morning tea/coffee & cake on arrival and a simple vegetarian lunch using local produce.This session is for adults - it is proposed to run a follow-up session to explore running workshops with children.
