Making Readers - how to create and publish books with kids - 3 workshops for adults
An introduction to making books and child-led publishing with Victoria Ryle, founder of Kids’ Own Publishing – held in the beautiful surrounds of All That We Are at 1450 overlooking Pipeclay Lagoon, near Clifton Beach.A relaxed, hands-on 3-part workshop series for artists, writers, educators and parents to explore simple approaches to creating and publishing books with, by and for children & young people*.
- Saturday 17 February 10am - 2pm: Congrats, you’ve published your own book!An introduction to the philosophy that underpins this practiceAn opportunity to create and publish your own 8- page epic book
- Saturday 24 February 10am - 2pm: Creative kids in controlExploring creative starting points and introducing the WePublish app for iPad
- Saturday 3 March 10am - 2pm: Community CollaborationsHow to facilitate projects in communities and collect and manage content
*Note: This approach works equally well with adult community members, but the focus in these sessions will be on working with children.
Participants need preferably to attend the 1st session before attending sessions 2 or 3.Simple home-made bread and salad lunch provided - contributions welcome!
