... And in 2020 – Response to Bushfire Emergency

At times like this we wonder what Scarlet would make of the world now and the changes over the last (almost) eight years since she died. She was always going to be a climate warrior – obsessing over compost, worrying about waste and writing "If money grew on trees..." how differently we would design our cities. So it is a must in 2020 for Scarlet's Fund to prioritise the bushfire catastrophe and climate emergency. This week we have made three donations:
To begin we have committed $1,250 to supporting emergency wildlife rescue efforts through WIRES in NSW: https://www.wires.org.au/donate/emergency-fund
We think it's vital to support policy reform if we are to improve Australia's contribution to mitigating climate change globally, so are joining the ACF's giving circle Groundswell https://www.groundswellgiving.org/ contributing $2,500 to their climate action campaign through the Climate Council: https://www.climatecouncil.org.au/.
We are also donating $1,250 to SEED https://www.seedmob.org.au/, building a movement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people for climate justice with the Australian Youth Climate Coalition.
All this behoves us to fundraise after a two year hiatus, so we are finally making available the set of beautiful limited edition lino prints commissioned from 20 Australian artists in 2016 online. Watch this space over the next few days...
We will start with this stunning etching by Kevin Foley https://www.portjacksonpress.com.au/artists/kevin-foley as a special fundraiser for a limited time only SAVEM in SA: https://www.savem.org.au/, the only wildlife rescuers operating on Kangaroo Island. We are offering this print unframed for a special price $225/250 (including postage & packaging in Australia/worldwide). Go to this page to order it.
