Whiskey & Boots is a Perth based performance company making Headphone Verbatim Performance works that examines the challenges and contradictions of the human condition.

Using storytelling with music Whiskey & Boots take real stories gathered from a community and share them publicly, illuminating moments that are familiar, expose common challenges and secret fears, reminding audiences that we are all complex, ugly, beautiful, brave, funny, flawed and vulnerable.

The work is low-fi, stripped back and welcoming, the fourth wall doesn’t exist. Through the sharing of honest moments in intimate spaces Whiskey & Boots try to understand each other better, boldly, honestly, playfully. 

Recently Whiskey & Boots have been touring their primary work Mama Stitch throughout regional WA responding and collecting stories from communities during a  3- 5 week residency which culminates in a bespoke performance experience. Whiskey & Boots employs a slow touring model and in 2022 visited 5 regional communities from the Pilbara to the Great Southern supported by Playing WA and Circuitwest.

Whiskey & Boots are excited to be completing a residency at All That We Are to sit in a different space, forge connections with the local community, other artists and the environment to nurture and refine our creative practice. We hope to use the time and space to stimulate, extend and reimagine our process.
