The Garden by Rick Amor

A$500.00

Rick Amor lives and works in Melbourne and is one of Australia’s most distinctive contemporary artists best known for his images of post-apocalyptic scenes where solitary figures are depicted in a landscape of monumental buildings, bridges and ships, decaying structures, abandoned freeway off-ramps and vast coastal bays. Amor has had over 50 solo exhibitions since 1974, including several major survey exhibitions of his works by McCelland Gallery in 1990 and 2005, Bendigo Art Gallery in 1993 and Heidi Museum of Modern Art in 2008 which also featured on the Sunday Arts programme, ABC.  Gary Catalano’s The Solitary Watcher: Rick Amor and his Art, was published in 2001 and Gavin Fry’s richly illustrated monograph, Rick Amor in 2008.  Rick Amor is represented in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Australia, the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra, and numerous state galleries, regional and university collections throughout Australia.
