In the Wind by Phillip Faulkes
Faulks describes his work as “A personal visual exploration of common lived experience familiar to us all” and says: “I hope that my work contributes to the idea that the revelation of nameless internal worlds can invite recognition and understanding of our shared humanity”. Faulks studied at the Victorian College of the Arts, completed a Master of Art at RMIT University in 1999, has worked extensively in higher education in the University and TAFE sectors and has been an exhibiting artist since 1981 in painting, drawing and sculpture. He has had over 15 solo shows in Australia and China and participated in over 75 group shows nationally and internationally.
He is represented in many private and public collections including the National Gallery of Victoria, Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney, Australian National Gallery Canberra and the Bendigo Art Gallery.
