Sophie Spain is a designer, teacher and maker. She designs books, websites, products and communication materials, has an independent “making practice” including book binding, illustrating, sewing and paper making and lectures in the Department of Industrial Design, RMIT.Her work is informed by craft, by the indulgences of narrative, and by memory, play, culture and tradition. Sophie is currently working on her PhD at RMIT (School of Media & Communication / Design Futures Lab), investigating and modelling the drivers and predicators of practice.
